What is EELISA

About EELISA

The European Engineering Learning Innovation and Science Alliance (EELISA) is an alliance of nine higher education institutions in seven countries, representing more than 180,000 students and 50,000 graduates per year, 16,000 faculty members and 10,000 staff. Following the motto “United in diversity”, EELISA brings together a rich variety of institutions: major traditional technical universities (40,000 students), some grandes écoles (fewer than 2,000 students), together with full-spectrum and comprehensive universities. They all have very different histories, ranging from the oldest engineering schools in Europe (around 300 years old) to some of the youngest universities. We are all well known as excellent education and research institutions and will work together to input our complementary strengths and profiles of engineering education across Europe as a basis for a fundamental transformation. The academic alliance is reinforced by the European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education (ENAEE) and by a large spectrum of partners from industry, associations and public administration.
