SEFI and Problem Based Learning

2025. március 20.

Problem Based Learning (PBL) is a student-centred pedagogy where the learning is driven by engagement with authentic problems, developing both the technical and professional skills that graduates require. Aalborg University is well-known for its PBL pedagogy, having been established in 1974 to operate in this mode. Professor Lindsay will present the Aalborg model, identify its strengths (and weaknesses) and show how it aligns with the challenges and opportunities facing engineering education in the future.

Time/location: 4th April, 2025 from 2:15 PM on Microsoft Teams

  • 2:15-2:25 – Introduction to SEFI (European Society for Engineering Education) and the speaker in Hungarian – Nagy Balázs Vince
  • 2:25-2:50 – Euan Lindsay’s presentation in English

The event is the third installment of BME’s new six-part lecture series titled „Oktatói Klub – more than education.” In these monthly events, invited Hungarian and international speakers share their experiences on various topics, engaging in joint discussions, both in person and online.
